We will visit the residential
neighbourhoods such as "Los Troncos",
with mansions surrounded by gardens. We
will continue through the commercial
center of Alem, the port with their
famous restaurants, the fishing boat
harbor, sea lions and the Cave of
Lourdes. We will then continue passing
by the southern beaches, the Punta
Mogotes Lighthouse, the Peralta Ramos
Woods, and the Corrientes Cape. In the
center of the city we will visit the
oldest beaches. We will also visit the
salons of the Provincial Hotel and the
Casino, evidences of the luxury of this
city. We will continue through the Civic
Center, where we will find the municipal
buildings, the Cathedral and San Martin
Square.

Balcarce
and the Museum of Juan Manuel Fangio
We will leave Mar del Plata and go 65
km. toward the west where you can find
hills, ranches and farms. The area is
the most important in Argentina for
growing potatoes. Then we will pass the
principle satellite communication center
in the country wich is located in
Balcarce. We finally arrive in the city
of Balcarce where Juan Manuel Fangio,
who is the five time international auto
champion, was born and lived. We will
visit the National Museum of Automobiles
founded by this great champion where we
can see his autos, prizes and history as
well as those of his occasional
adversaries: the principle race tracks
of the world. The museum at the same
time presents the most advanced
technology of the automobile industry.
Then we will visit the "Juan Manuel
Fangio Race Track". We will return
going around the Lagoon and the hills of
the Padres; where we will stop to have a
creole lunch.

The
Lakes and the Hills of the Padres
On this excursion we will visit a series
of monuments that commemorate the Jesuit
Missionary movement of the 18th century.
These are located some 30 km. to the
west of Mar del Plata. In the middle of
the hills of the Padres we will find a
small lake of exceptionally beauty. In
an actual reproduction of a Jesuit
settlement of converted indians you will
find documents related to their history.
We will also visit the José Hernandez
Museum, called "The Paternal house
of the Argentine Gaucho". This poet
was the autor of Martín Fierro. This
master piece of gaucho literature
reflected the customs and activities of
this district where the author lived.
The country at the same time is a
charming mixture of farms, small ranches
and tree vegetation.

Beaches
of the Atlantic and Sea World
This excursion allows us to appreciate
the principle Argentine beaches that are
used during the summer by millions of
tourists. We will leave Mar del Plata
heading north by route 11 that runs
along the coast visiting Santa Clara del
Mar, Mar Chiquita, with an important
lagoon (we will visit it), Villa Gesell,
Pinamar, Mar de Ajó, San Bernardo,
Santa Teresita, arriving at about noon
to San Clemente del Tuyú where we will
have lunch. Then we will visit an ocean
aquarium "Mundo Marino", where
we can find the principle species of the
marine life found in this region in
excellent artificial and natural
facilities. We will be able to see
aquatic shows with sea lions, whales,
dolphins, seals and penguins. At the
same time we can see in these tanks the
principle species of fish and amphibious
animals in their natural state.
