Day
1- Depart USA
Overnight transatlantic flight to Rome.
Day 2 - Arrive Rome (2
nights)
Transfer to the hotel on arrival in Rome Fiumicino Airport. Then you have
time to relax in the 'Eternal City' or perhaps go out to explore this
fascinating city. Romans live and love life to the full - so remember, when
in Rome …!
Hotel: Ergife Palace (2 nights)
Day 3 - Rome sightseeing
& at leisure.
Our morning sightseeing features St. Peter's Basilica plus views of the
Forum and Colosseum. Later, free time to perhaps visit the Catacombs or
enjoy a cappuccino at a pavement cafe. (Continental breakfast)
Day 4 - Rome - Bay of
Naples (2 nights)
Today we head past the Abbey of Monte Cassino to the Bay of Naples for two
relaxing nights. This afternoon, why not take an optional excursion to see
the excavations of Pompeii, the town literally petrified by the eruption of
Vesuvius in AD 79? (Continental breakfast / Dinner)

5 - Sorrento Excursion
This morning we drive to the nearby resort of Sorrento to visit an inlaid
wood workshop. Then free time to shop on the Piazza Tasso before maybe
taking an optional excursion to the enchanting Isle of Capri. This former
summer home of Roman Emperors is alive with colour and character. This
evening we return to our hotel for dinner. (Continental breakfast / Dinner)
Day 6 - Bay of Naples -
Assisi
Today we're off to mystic Umbria and the city of St. Francis, Assisi. Our
arrival an orientation tour includes St. Francis' Basilica, renowned for its
fresco paintings. Dinner is at our hotel. (Continental breakfast / Dinner)

7 - Assisi - Venice (Main.) (2 nights)
Now to the Adriatic Coast and San Marino, one of the smallest republics in
the world, with its spectacular site on the slopes of Mount Titano. From
here on to the floating city of Venice, where you may wish to enjoy a
romantic gondola serenade. (Continental breakfast / Dinner)

8 - Venice orientation & at leisure
Savour the sights and sounds of this serene city as we take our canal cruise
by vaporetto to St. Mark's Square with views of the Bridge of Sighs and
more. Next we visit a glass-blowing factory, before time at leisure to shop
or sightsee further. (Continental breakfast / Dinner)
Day
9 - Venice (Main.) - Italian Lakes (Varese) (2 nights)
This morning's drive takes us inland to Shakespeare's Verona. Here we stop
to admire the Roman Arena and see Juliet's balcony. Finally we travel via
Milan to the Italian Lake District where we spend the next two nights.

10 - Lugano Excursion
After breakfast we head out on an excursion into Switzerland and the pretty
resort of Lugano. There's time here to perhaps stroll along the lakeside
promenades, pedalo on the lake and enjoy the wonderful mountain air, before
we return to our hotel. (Continental breakfast / Dinner)
Day 11- Italian Lakes (Varese)
- Florence (Calenzano)
We cross the Apennine Mountains coming to Genoa, Columbus' birthplace. From
here we make our way to Pisa where we see the famous Leaning Tower in the
square of miracles. Then on to our hotel in Florence. (Continental breakfast
/ Dinner)

Day
12 - Florence (Calenzano) - Siena
Florence was one of the liveliest and most creative cities in Europe, so
today visitors can see some of the world's greatest works of art and most
magnifiecent buildings. We enjoy a walking sightseeing tour of this great
city this morning to see the marble Cathedral, Signoria Square, Santa Croce
Basilica and Baptistry. Afterwards, there's time to discover the artistic
wonders of Donatello or Michelangelo and shop for quality leather and gold.
Later, ascenic drive through the Chianti wine-producing region of Tuscany
brings us to Siena for dinner and overnight stay. (Continental breakfast)

13 - Siena - Rome
Today an orientation of this medieval city, famous for the Palio horse race,
reveals its rich artistic heritage. Later, we leave Siena behind and make
our way back to Rome for our final night. (Continental breakfast)

14 - Rome - USA
'Arrivederci Roma' as we you transfer to the airport for our return flight
to the USA. (Continental breakfast)

Transfers to and from London's Airports direct to Central London (Paddington
Station)
- A Trafalgar bonus – transfers can be
expensive, particularly between the Airport and central London. When

the airport are included. It's that simple. Trafalgar has included a
Free transfer to and from your airport and Central London.
- Important – Please Note: Passengers
will only be entitled to transfers to and from London Airports
providing the following conditions are met:

booked by Trafalgar, on the night of your arrival and the night prior
